Little Mistress

I know I know, a pencil dress and heels for a walk in the park? Highly unlikely. But living in a little town doesn’t always provide for ample beautiful backdrops – I leave that for London trips! This dress from Little Mistress had me feeling like quite the sassy go-getter the second I put it on, and while the wiggle-space for my hips isn’t exactly generous, I think that’s the whole point of a fitted pencil skirt. Plus, my body shape always leaves me with room on top and not much on bottom, so at least my lungs had plenty of breathing space!

A dress like this speaks for itself; I felt transformed into a bit of a little mistress- not the naughty kind, the be-your-own-boss type!- so accompanying it with a simple ring, red lips and a ponytail was all it really needed. I’ve seen a lot of French Connection dresses that tick that same box, and for anyone in need of a new work dress- or just something to wiggle around in- this type of dress is the ultimate in feeling sophisticated. But I also like how the mesh sleeves of this dress update the look by showing a little flesh! And, in homage to Iggy Azalea I even attempted a little grab-your-ponytail-and-look-fierce but might have just fallen short of that… xx
