Dark Florals & Ripped Jeans

With yesterday being the first official day of autumn, I decided it was time to dip in to a ‘dark floral’ trend that’s been popping up in the high street. While I’ve never been the biggest fan of floral prints, I’ve definitely taken to these prints far more than its lighter counterpart! Maybe it’s because the base colour is, well, black, which I find a lot more flattering than any actual real colour…! The chiffon material of this shirt from Persunmall is another reason I really enjoy dressing for autumn – wearing something long-sleeved but still showing flesh through the material. And while this shirt might have been best suited with a pair of leather shorts and my trusty Chelsea boots, I couldn’t help but feel like these jeans deserved an outing (plus I was feeling quite lazy and who doesn’t turn to jeans on a down-day?). And with a crop top underneath, there’s just enough skin-through-chiffon on show to make it more than just a shirt and jeans outfit! Speaking of jeans, how hard a time do you have finding something that fits perfectly on the legs as the hips? My ratios certainly don’t make it easy for me! But these jeans, (a gift from the wonderful Carrie) from the wash to the rips had my heart at first glance; I’m a sucker for ripped jeans! And it fit me perfectly well, a miracle of a present if you ask me!

Now, on Instagram and in comments here I’ve been asked whether or not I could post an everyday makeup tutorial (even though I assure you I’m far from a genius!) and if that’s something you’d like to see, please let me know! Having put liquid eyeliner on since my earlier days of goth/emo, I do have a fair few years of experience behind me… ; ) xx
