Cut Out Girls

You’re never too old to emulate a ‘schoolgirl’ look, and I just couldn’t help myself when I received this beautiful pink bag! Handmade by the lovely Carla and Libby of Cut Out Girls, it’s made of waterproof cotton with reclaimed leather straps, and couldn’t be more up my street; sourced and made in Britain using quality materials by two very talented women, what more could you want? This is the Pliage bag, from their ‘Le Voyage’ A/W’13 collection, and I instantly loved the way it folds like a brown paper bag (you know the one I mean, in those American movies where it always looks so full but really there’s just a baguette in there). I’ll be using this a lot in winter to add a bit of bright colour to the many grey and black items I have in my wardrobe. And on a slightly serious note, supporting small businesses is something I have in mind a lot, and I know that when I’ll be earning properly I’ll be investing my money in people like those behind Cut Out Girls.

To me this shirt feels like the epitome of the word ‘cutesy’! It’s certainly something Jess from New Girl would approve of, which, being the Zooey-lover that I am, makes me feel pretty good indeed… x
