I have never been away on a girls holiday somewhere exotic and hot, but I’ve never really fancied that kind of getaway with my friends (no, really!). I’m all for relaxing and love a sandy beach more than anyone, but this kind of country getaway is way more realistic (Carrie, Lucy, Kristabel and Olivia are very busy ladies indeed) and because I’d never been to Somerset, it truly felt like a mini holiday close to home!
We made the trip on Friday to spend Carrie’s birthday with her and her family in Somerset, and spent the Saturday ogling all of the beautiful items at Kilver Court. Being a first-timer there, I was left in awe at just how many amazing brands the outlet has to offer. From Mulberry to MiH and Orla Kiely, we lost ourselves wandering around- literally, Kristabel and Lucy were momentarily lost- and indulged in locally-sourced yummy lunch at the pantry. Thinking the day couldn’t possibly get better, we were taken on a magical tour of the unseen parts of Kilver Court by Mulberry and the Court’s founder Roger Saul himself! We soaked up all of the inspiration we could get while he treated us to an afternoon spread of sweet treats and teas fit for a king, overlooking the beautiful gardens. Phew, all in a day’s work! x
P.S. If you noticed my little gold ring take a peek at Clarice Price Thomas‘ beautifully handmade creations; she uses traditional watch makers machines to craft each piece of jewellery, which makes for a very memorable item to own- and she’s also a very lovely lady too!
